Dr. Babu T. Jose completed his B.Tech. from NIT Warangal in 1967 with the Nehru Memorial Gold Medal, M.Tech. from IIT Madras in 1972 and Ph.D. from Cochin University of Science and Technology in 1990. He was a lecturer in NIT, Calicut, for 13 years (1967-1980). Currently, he is Emeritus Professor at Cochin University of Science and Technology since 2004. Dr. Jose has commendable experience in research. He has published more than 150 research papers, and on the consultancy front, he has successfully completed more than 500 projects. On the administrative side, he was a principal at the School of Engineering, Cochin University, during 1980–1995 and director till 2004. Dr. Babu T Jose is the founder chairman of IGS, Kochi Chapter. He was the chairman of the organizing committee of IGC in 2011 and the chief editor of its proceedings.
Dr. Dipak Kumar Sahoo has been a full-time faculty member since 2001, and currently a professor since 2009, in the School of Engineering, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi. Prior to academics, he was working in the Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited, a Central Public Sector Company, in India for more than ten years as a consulting engineer to many public and private sector companies for setting up their green-field petrochemical complexes in different parts of India. He received his B.Sc. Engineering (Civil) from CET Bhubaneswar in 1987, M.Tech. in Construction Engineering and Management from Cochin University of Science and Technology in 1998, Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2009 and LL.B. from the Cochin University of Science and Technology in 2015.
Professor Eun Chul Shin is currently Professor Emeritus at the Incheon National University, South Korea. He graduated from Chungbuk National University in Korea. He obtained his M.S. degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, USA, in 1987 and a Ph.D. degree from the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, USA, in 1994 under the supervision of Prof. Braja M. Das. Since graduation, he has been teaching geotechnical engineering at the Incheon National University, Korea, where he obtained a full professorship in 2005 and served as a dean of the Urban Science College until 2016. He is an immediate past vice president of International Society for Soil Mechanic and Geotechnical Engineering in Asia region (2017–2022). He has published five books on the geotechnical, geo-environmental, and civil engineering-related subjects as well as more than 100 journal papers and 150 conference papers.
Prof. Deepankar Choudhury is Prof. T. Kant Chair Professor and Head of Civil Engineering department of IIT Bombay, Mumbai, India. Prof. Choudhury did his B.E. (Civil) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata; M.E. (Geotechnical Engineering) from IISc Bangalore and Ph.D. (Civil Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering) from IISc Bangalore. Prof. Choudhury worked as alecturer at IIT Kanpur during 2002–2003 before moving to IIT Bombay as an assistant professor in 2003 and elevated to full professor in 2012. He also mentored new IITs at Gandhinagar in 2009 and Dharwad in 2017 on deputation from IIT Bombay. He is the author of one major textbook, four edited books, more than 170 peer-reviewed reputed journal papers, and more than 130 full peer-reviewed conference papers. He executed several national and international field projects of repute as an expert consultant to various organizations of India and abroad.
Dr. Anil Joseph completed his graduation and post-graduation in Civil Engineering from N.I.T. Surat. He was awarded Ph.D. from NIT Calicut, for his work on “Precompression of Soft Marine Clays”. He is the Managing Director of Geostructurals (P) Ltd., a leading foundation and structural consultancy firm and has provide consultancy services for more than 3,000 high rise structures in India and abroad. He is also the managing director of CECONS (P) Ltd., a construction firm specialized in the execution of pile foundations, and Director of Engineers Diagnostic Centre (P) Ltd., a firm specialized in geotechnical investigation and retrofitting works. He is currently serving as National President of Indian Geotechnical Society and Chairman of Civil Division Board, Institution of Engineers India.
Dr. Rahul R. Pai is currently a faculty in the Civil Engineering Department of SCMS School of Engineering and Technology, Kerala, India. He has an experience of around 12 years in the field of academics as well as industry. He completed his B. Tech. in Civil Engineering from M. G. University, Kerala, India, and M. Tech. in Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engineering from S. V. National Institute of Technology, Surat, India. He also did his Ph.D. from S. V. National Institute of Technology, Surat, in Transportation Geotechnics. The Ph.D. research was a funded project on waste management technology sponsored by theDepartment of Science and Technology, India. His key research areas include utilization of sustainable and innovative materials in highway infrastructure, structural evaluation of flexible pavement with falling weight deflectometer and quality control aspects of construction of pavements with industrial wastes.
