Prodigal" is a collection of prose and poetry in which the author attempts to bring the reader into a greater appreciation of the scriptures. The writings create a plausible truth that is often lost in the familiarity with, or in the cursory reading of, the scriptures. There are hints throughout every chapter and verse of the Bible of a more complex backdrop than is first realized, and this is where her writings take us. The interpretations herein tell of "how it could have been", based on the truth "that is".

Autorenporträt
Mary York Carr has been writing prose and poetry since she was a child of eight. Her writings come to life as she looks into the scriptures and imagines life in the times of Jesus. "Prodigal" is Mary's first published work, and she is grateful for the opportunity to share her insights with those who are willing to take a feasible look at life a step beyond the written Word. Mary is currently writing her first novel, "Mary of Bethany", a close up look at the family that was probably the nearest and dearest to our Lord. Mary resides in Madison, Alabama, with her husband, Fred, who supports her completely in her efforts to help the scriptures come alive in the hearts of her readers.
