Produktbeschreibung
Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensführung, Management, Organisation, Note: 2, FH Krems (Unternehmensführung & E-Business Management), Veranstaltung: Projektmanagement, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to explore the importance of cultures and cultural differences in international projects. Furthermore, it aims to explain how cultural differences impact a project's success, and thus underlines the need for cultural competence as an additional tool for international project managers. Besides mere technical, subject-specific and communication skills, cultural competence enables the project leader to properly lead, not merely manage, the teams consisting of diverse cultural backgrounds towards the common project goals. This not only moves the obstacles to cooperation out of the way, but it also unlocks and utilizes the potential that comes with such diversity as well. The data for this paper was gathered through a review of the current literature that deals with the relevant subjects. This involves but is not necessarily restricted to various project and cross-cultural management sources, journals, and research papers. Attention was paid to the quality of the material, which refers to the eligibility for quoting and whether or not the material used is up to date. In conclusion it was found that not only does culture with its forms and differences affect the processes of building of attitudes, norms and values, but it also in extend affects the behavior of an individual and the way "how things are approached and done". When brought together in teams, especially big international teams, those accumulated differences influence everything from communication, gathering and implementation of ideas, problem solving, work processes etc., and thus have a huge both direct and indirect impact on the project's or endeavors' outcome. Further studies in this area are strongly recommended in order to excel the awareness of project and business managers that want or need to work on a global level.
