Trilogiya Marka Haritonova (r. 1937) "Provincial'naya filosofiya" vpervye izdaetsya na russkom yazyke odnoj knigoj. V nee vhodyat romany "Prohor Men'shutin" (1971, opublikovan v 1988), "Provincial'naya filosofiya" (1977, opublikovan v 1993), "Linii sud'by, ili Sunduchok Milashevicha" (1980-1985, premiya "Russkij Buker", 1992). Vse tri knigi svyazany obshchimi personazhami, obshchim mestom dejstviya, provincial'nymi gorodkami Nechajsk i Stolbenec, obshchim prodolzhayushchimsya syuzhetom, "tihim, no moguchim dyhaniem neutolimoj strasti" (Andrej Nemzer). V polnom vide trilogiya publikovalas' tol'ko po-francuzski po iniciative vydayushchegosya slavista professora ZHorzha Niva, otmechavshego "nepodrazhaemyj kolorit, kotoryj oshchushchaetsya vo vsekh rabotah bol'shogo pisatelya". Otdel'nye chasti trilogii publikovalis' takzhe na anglijskom, cheshskom i kitajskom yazykah.
