This book is a personal and critical reflection on the reality in which we live, based on the contradictions presented when comparing this with the attitude, thoughts, and behavior handed by the society that we are in. Produktbeschreibung
This book is a personal and critical reflection on the reality in which we live, based on the contradictions presented when comparing this with the attitude, thoughts, and behavior handed by the society that we are in. The author, through way of experiences and things seen, discusses how sometimes we as people like to hide behind moral, honest, and religious masks while still showing the opposite of this in our actions. Throughout the text, what is really questioned is the blind conformation of a society trapped into a circle without any will to go against the evident and real problems affecting it.

It allows the reader to reflect on the importance of self-criticism, the empathy, and the art of communication that would bring about a more just and understandable society. We may even question whether it is desirable that we change or whether we are so comfortable in our comfort zone that we would rather leave things the way they are, rather than embarking on the problems and difficulties that beset us. Social criticism is not a 'denuncia'; it is a call to act and reflect upon changes, even though this is not always easy and comfortable.

Awareness, throughout the book, seems to point at the individual where change has to start, but this again can only be achieved when we, too, know exactly what is going wrong and have the keenness to question it. It is an appeal not to be silent, not to withhold, to voice opinions and thoughts, even when it is not the most pleasant thing to do, knowing that this is how one would further keep what is wrong alive. The author, through his own personal experience, tells how life can be cruel, how disappointment and betrayal are inevitable, yet how learning from experiences and fighting back is part of growing up and maturing.

This is a book not to critique just one society, but as a general call for one to become more aware of his acts and attitudes, to be sensitive, not just to keep up or sit back in ease and comfort but to strive towards something more, towards something that is truly more humane. It does not propose solutions for change; it calls on a need to reflect profoundly upon changing our existing attitudes. And it can be done individually and must also be so at a social and professional level.

Finally, the book represents a hopeful cry to have a world free from fear, with no barriers and judgment, a world in which we would really be ourselves, not only free from others' judgment but, most of all, to have the right to be genuine and not be afraid of our actions. This world would indeed become possible under one condition: we must first want it different.
