I am not a psychologist but have a keen interest, as a layman, in what makes us do the things we do, and react in the ways that we do. Everyone is different, that's for sure, but as part of the human family, we do have distinguishable features that each of us can recognize and identify with. The concept of purpose is one of those things.
Purpose is deeply personal and can vary from person to person. It is all part of our on-going journey of self-discovery and growth.
I have found, in my personal relationship, that my wife and I regularly come up with great ideas and concepts. Mostly, however, it is I that does anything about them. That may involve writing a song about the topic we discussed or examining the topic in a lot further detail. Why is that? What drives one person may not drive another. There is no right or wrong to it, but it did raise the questions relating to having a purpose or not.
Purpose also refers to a sense of meaning and direction in one's life. It is the reason we get out of bed in the morning, burning with an enthusiastic desire, to do something. So, it can be the reason, or motivation, behind each action we make in that day. As well as the futuristic goals we set ourselves to achieve.
This of course leads us to the actual choices we make, good and bad, that can affect our entire life. Think about it. Those brain neurons, that I, and many others, know very little about, can direct us into wonderful and fulfilling ventures just as easily as it can lead us into the darker side of the human experience, where prison walls are the commonplace scenario.
We first must understand the narrative to effect any change that, hopefully, will enhance our life for the better of the community and family that you live with. What will today look like? What could today look like? That's what I am hoping you will discover and investigate within these pages. I have included quotes from famous people to let you realize that we are all on this voyage of discovery simultaneously and that we can learn from, and help, each other in the process.
