Considering the fact that marriage is the first agent of socialization to a child, humanity owes it a duty to the younger generation to preserve the tenets of the institution based on old values handed down by God. The endemic crisis witnessed today in the institution escalated because of limited knowledge of values, inadequate culture of communication and poor handling of myths and fact of the institution. These factors among others are regrettably responsible for the embarrassing rate of divorces witnessed globally. The religious bodies have no doubt been contributing through workshops and seminars in solving the problem, but the conflict in their doctrines and restrictions does not give them the needed free hand to address the problem considering the dynamism that characterize life at that stage, so the problem has continued unabated.
