Polymath Rabindranath Tagore was the first non-European to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. But Tagore was much more than a writer. Bashabi Fraser is the cofounder and Director of the Scottish Centre of Tagore Studies (ScoTs). Her most recent publications include Scottish Orientalism and the Bengal Renaissance: the Continuum of Ideas (2017) and Rabindranath Tagore's Global Vision (2015). She lives in Edinburgh.
