Mark D. Miller, MD is the Head of the Division of Sports Medicine and the S. Ward Casscells Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Virginia. He is a Distinguished Graduate of the Air Force Academy and the Uniformed Services University F. Edward Hebert' School of Medicine. Dr. Miller is a highly decorated retired Colonel in the US Air Force and former team physician for the US Air Force Academy. He currently serves as team physician for James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Dr. Miller has over 25 orthopaedic textbooks that he has written and/or edited including the "best selling" Review of Orthopaedics (now in its 7th Edition) and is the author of over 200 peer reviewed articles. He is the Founder/Director of the popular Miller Review Course, and is a highly sought after speaker.
Dr. Miller has been very active in several professional societies including the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and is the former chair for three different committees in that society. He was an American Orthopaedic Association North American Traveling Fellow and both a Traveling Fellow and a Godfather for the AOSSM Traveling Fellowship program. Dr. Miller has been named as a "Top Doctor" for numerous regional, national, and international programs. Although widely known for his expertise in knee surgery, Dr. Miller is also an accomplished shoulder surgeon and sports medicine specialist. He is married to his wife, Ann, and has four grown children and two grandchildren.
Cyril Mauffrey, MD, FACS, FRCS is the director of Orthopaedic Trauma at Denver Health Medical Center. He was trained in the United Kingdom and obtained his Orthopaedic boards through the Royal College of Surgeons. Following a year at the University Hospital of Louisville as an Orthopaedic Trauma fellow, he joined Denver Health Medical Center and the University of Colorado School of Medicine where he is an Associate Professor. Dr. Mauffrey's research and clinical interest include novel strategies for the management of long bone infections in addition to pelvic and acetabular fractures. Dr. Mauffrey is the Editor in Chief for the European Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology and on the board of directors of the International Society for Fracture Repair (ISFR) alongside other organizations such as SICOT and the OTA.
David J. Hak, MD, MBA, FACS graduated from the University of Michigan and received his medical degree from Ohio State University. His postdoctoral training included an orthopedic residency at the University of California at Los Angeles and an orthopedic trauma fellowship at the University of California at Davis. He received his MBA in health care administration from Auburn University. He has been on the faculty of the University of Michigan, the University of California at Davis, and the University of Colorado. Dr. Hak is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He serves in various leadership roles in the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the International Society for Fracture Repair.
