Known as the master of satire, Chae Man-sik explores the psyche of an unemployed man in colonial Korea. Faced with the harsh realities of life, P finds it difficult to commit to the task of finding a job. His overzealous attitude leads him to ponder over other people's morality and ethics, all the while ignoring his own duties as a father and as a brother. Chae gives an insight into problems plaguing Korea before independence and the different ways in which these problems manifested.
