Produktbeschreibung
"Realities of Meaning" is a philosophical analysis of twenty-one books by historical and modern scientists and philosophers, probing into the many and varied speculative intellectual approaches towards the understanding of mind, intelligence and consciousness. The author of this work is a fictional character called Professor Julius Hardwicke, who readers of the "Chitta Niyama Opportunity" first met as he was travelling to give a lecture on the work of Arthur Schopenhauer to an evening class of students. On his way home from that lecture he was inspired to make some notes on the train and "Realities of Meaning" began from those notes and was later developed to become a treatise that he finished just before he died. This work was then left in his will to Jack and Chloe, the characters readers meet for the first time in "The Slimeball Moments". Jack is reading through this work and making comments about it from his point of view as readers move through his journal to Chloe. Therefore "Realities of Meaning" has been included in full as an appendix in the paperback version of "The Slimeball Moments" so that readers of this get the full benefit of being able to read the appendix at the same time as Jack's comments. However, the author appreciates that not everyone enjoys reading fictional novels, and certainly the appreciation of "Realities of Meaning" does not depend on having read the two books from which this work arose. It stands alone for what it is, a philosophical approach towards the understanding of mind, intelligence and consciousness. Therefore we have made it available here exclusively as an E-Book.
