As an award-winning speaker, a former high school science teacher, and college program chair, with a PhD in curriculum and instruction, and certifications in online instructional design and evaluation, Dr. Yen dreams of a world where every child has the tools, confidence, and capability to succeed and thrive.As a learning theorist, Dr. Yen started the #rebelteaching movement to bring authentic learning back into education. She has dedicated her life to creating supportive education ecosystems that empower and inspire students, adults, and communities.Dr. Yen collects books, attempts gardening, and causes plenty of good trouble in her spare time. She also has a Candy Crush gaming addiction and survives on coffee. She lives in Iowa with her husband, two sons, a psychotic dog, a few fish, and several chickens.
