This book focuses on the receiver design issue in high spectral efficiency communication systems, which is one of the main research directions in beyond 5G and 6G era. In particular, this book studies two technologies to improve the spectral efficiency, i.e., FTN signaling which transmits more data information in the same time period and NOMA scheme which supports more users with the same resource elements. Produktbeschreibung
Different commonly used channel propagation conditions are considered, and advanced signal processing algorithms have been developed for designing receivers, which is suitable for low-complexity receiver design in engineering practice. Moreover, this book discusses possible solutions to further increase spectral efficiency and propose practical receivers in such scenarios. It benefits researchers, engineers, and students in the fields of wireless communications and signal processing.

Dr. Weijie Yuan is currently an assistant professor with the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology. He obtained the Ph.D. degree from University of Technology Sydney in 2019. Then he was a research associate with the University of New South Wales, Australia, prior to joining the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology in 2021. He was a research scholar in the University of Technology Vienna, University of Sydney, University of Wollongong, and University of Southampton in 2016, 2018, and 2019, respectively. He was a recipient of the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award from the Chinese Institute of Electronics and an Exemplary Reviewer from IEEE TCOM/WCL. His research interests include statistical signal processing, orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) and integrated sensing and communication (ISAC).
He currently serves as an Associate Editorfor the IEEE Communications Letters, an Associate Editor and an Award Committee Member for the EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing. He has led the guest editorial teams for three special issues in IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking, and China Communications. He was an Organizer/the Chair of several workshops and special sessions on OTFS and ISAC in flagship IEEE and ACM conferences, including IEEE ICC, IEEE/CIC ICCC, IEEE SPAWC, IEEE VTC, IEEE WCNC, IEEE ICASSP, and ACM MobiCom. He has also lead the editorial team for the IEEE ComSoc Best Readings on OTFS and Delay Doppler Signal Processing. He is the Founding Chair of the IEEE ComSoc Special Interest Group on Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS-SIG).
