Dogmatic and legal policy-related issues regarding copyright law are presented on the basis of approximately 100 decisions of the Federal Supreme Court (BGH) and brief commentary for legal application. Due to the fact that the national copyright law is a particular focus of European directive policy, the decisions of both the Federal Constitutional Court (BVerfG) and the European Court of Justice (ECJ) regarding copyright law are of significance for the BGH, and are taken into account in this collection of decisions. The selected decisions of the BGH with relevant brief commentary establish a framework for understanding copyright law and its principle issues in the age of the Internet and digitalization.
