In 1974, the seven-year dictatorship collapsed in Greece under the weight of the Cypriot tragedy caused by the Turkish invasion of the island following the coup against Makarios. The months that followed (July 1974-June 1975) marked the period of Regime Change, that is, the restoration of democracy, which occurred in such a short period of time that it was internationally referred to as the "Greek miracle". It was during this time that the foundations were laid for the most mature period of the Greek parliamentary regime and for the most prosperous period of the new Greek state. In this book, through 50 questions and answers, the most significant issues related to this period are examined: How did we reach the Turkish invasion of Cyprus? How did the dictatorship collapse? What were Greece's capabilities to face the Turkish invasion? What were the dangers of the first days? What were the goals of Karamanlis and his team? How was political control restored in the army and state mechanisms? How was the "institutions crisis" of the period 1915-1974 addressed? What happened to the monarchy institution? What problems arose with Turkey during the period 1974-75? How did the restoration of democracy occur at such a rapid pace in such a short period of time? What were the goals of the 1975 Constitution? What happened with the punishment of the junta members? What does the Regime Change of 1974-75 signify for modern Greek history?
