The Great War has recently ended, and in the contiuing border conflicts, Elena's home city of Smyna has fallen. Placed on a refugee ship with her sister Sophia, Elena is accidentally pushed overboard and left alone at sea. She cries out to her Lord--but will He help? Auhan was raised in a Turkish Muslim family. As they travel to New York aboard a cargo ship, Auhan witnesses the rescue of a young woman from the waves. He is drawn in fascination to Elena, but her words about Jesus Christ leave a bitter taste in his mouth. He has witnessed far too much suffering to believe in any god. Elena holds on to the remnants of her faith--all that she has left. Can her determination and strength soften Auhan's hardened heart?
