Maulana Jalal al-Din Rumi was a thirteenth century Persian Sunni Muslim poet, jurist, Islamic scholar and theologian, who's influence transcends national borders and ethnic divisions.

Reynold Alleyne Nicholson was an eminent English orientalist scholor of both Islamic literature and islamic mysticism and widely regarded as one of the greatest Rumi scholars and translators in the English Language.
