Autorenporträt
Linsay Sherrat began her writing career by telling bedtime stories to her daughter (now a graduate student). Night after night she conjured up amazing adventures featuring crazy characters, bringing them to life first in her imagination and then, eventually, on the page through stories and poems. Ricky of the River Pride was inspired by a young boy who loved playing with toy animals. Initially shy and introverted, he gradually opened up to Linsay, allowing her to discover his vivid imagination. For him, the idea of toys coming to life and having an adventure was perfectly reasonable. When she is not reading or writing, Linsay takes pleasure in art, movies, history and fashion. An animal-lover, her home is populated by cats, dogs, budgies and goldfish. She appreciates nature and is a committed recycler who believes in minimising the impact we have on the environment.
