River Haven Adventures is a book series set in an Eco-Village (inspired by an actual eco-village in the area) in the little town of Verulam, in Durban, South Africa. Priyan and Thandi, our intrepid adventurers, move to the eco-village with their Moms, who are besties, looking for a fresh start. Priyan is six and of Indian descent (6th generation) and Thandi, eight, is of African descent. They meet three imaginary friends, go on loads of adventures, meet people of diverse cultures and backgrounds, and learn the art of caring, mindfulness, and all the other difficult growing-up stuff most children deal with today, irrespective of their global positioning. A mystical, magical, fantasy element is woven into the fabric of the stories, starting with River Haven itself as the first-person narrator of the first story.

In this story, the families move to River Haven. The children go exploring while Purity and Tammy (their moms) work on settling in. The children meet the locals: both furry and human. They also meet three interesting and mystical characters who help them settle in and have fun.
