Thus, it follows that this work is concerned with the life of RLS, but also with his literary work and how the former has influenced the latter. Moreover, Treasure Island will be explored and contextualized against the backdrop of the genre Adventure Fiction. For said purpose it is necessary to briefly define the most common aspects of the genre at hand. These common aspects will be explored and RLS’s literary works in the genre and his personal approach shall be outlined later on.
