This easy to read picture book is intended for young children ages 4-7. Roger is a baby elephant who lives in a zoo. He is lonely because he is the only elephant. He makes attempts to reach out to play with the people at the zoo without success. Then he meets a spider named Sam and asks the spider to play with him. Sam agrees. Now the only problem is finding something that they can play together. After Roger and Sam think about all the usual children's games which don't work for them, Sam comes up with a new game. The two become friends.

Autorenporträt

Emily Stoh first became interested in writing as a child. She was shy, and a pen was a good way to express herself without drawing too much attention. Emily especially liked the creativity involved in writing and was encouraged after winning several local writing contests. She had taken writing classes in college and tried her hand at other genres, romance, and historical fiction, when it was suggested to her that she create a children's book. The first-time author embraced the idea of writing her own series. Since elephants are her favorite animals, she felt that a little elephant named Roger would be the perfect subject for her debut title in her imaginative new picture book series for children 4-8. The story of Roger learning to paint came naturally as she watched her daughter learn to draw. She is excited to continue the series with other adventures her spider and elephant can get into. Emily recently graduated from Mt. San Jacinto College in San Jacinto, California where she earned an AA in Communications and Humanities; and an AA in Science and Math.
