Robert L. Beir was born in New York City in 1918. A dedicated Roosevelt and Holocaust scholar, he has a comprehensive private Roosevelt library. In 1984, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Jr. asked Bob Beir to join the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute's Board of Directors, where he continues to serve to this day.
