Autorenporträt

Carl Sandburg (18781967) received three Pulitzer Prizes, two for his poetry and one for his 1940 biography of Abraham Lincoln. Before achieving literary fame, Sandburg's occupations included milkman, ice harvester, dishwasher, salesman, and fireman. His classic works include the Rootabaga Stories, written early in his career for his children.
