Rubies from My Dusty Closet is like discovering a treasure chest long wanting to be found. It is the realization of a passionate dream. The name has a literal meaning. Rubies from My Dusty Closet is like discovering a treasure chest long wanting to be found. It is the realization of a passionate dream. The name has a literal meaning. It has my favorite poem that I wrote in college long time back, getting intensely touched by the sacrifice of a young soldier who died fighting for his country's freedom. Ever since, any fascinating real-life occurrence steered me to create poetry. During a closed one's suicide, I resorted to writing to deal with the pain. It healed me. It became an addiction I sought shelter in. Extremes of emotion-failure, death, love, suffering, joy, beauty-and universal and human experiences influenced my pen to keep weaving, keeping me whole and helping me survive. I love meaningful poetry with a message-something that enlightens body and spirit and soothes as many times as you read it. I believe my book will connect the world spiritually through a sense of purpose and heal ailing hearts. This book is very special to me or anyone who feels the spirit of life that keeps its chemistry at balance, of what we all will become aware at some point in life. If you enjoy romancing the starry sky on the summit of a hill, Propagate soulful love that becomes immortal, If you value the goodness in life and making others happy, If scarifying gains you mental peace, If you love dearly and believe in love despite unrequited, Endure the pain of losing someone closest to your heart, If you dream big and believe in a fighter spirit, And have shed tears for someone who's parted, If you have been broken badly and striving to heal, This book is for you. Much love, Dr. Javeria Hayat Khan

Autorenporträt
The author Javeria Hayat was born and raised in Pakistan. She has been passionate about reading and writing ever since age seven, when she hand-wrote her first pictorial book of poems and got it photocopied for friends using her pocket money A fine speaker along with an intelligent student all her scholastic life, she got selected numerous times to host major literary events and won many local declamation and poetry contests with her writings. She studied medicine in the prestigious Khyber Medical College, Peshawar and graduated with acclaim: now she is a dedicated General Surgeon and a respected figure socially. She is left handed, turns thirty one next February, occasionally paints or enjoys calligraphy. She loves soulful music of any genre, the works of all great authors and reads in her free time. Writing poetry by night, her inspiration is any source emotionally abundant. Having a great zeal for linguistics, she is blessed to speak four languages fluently with bits of Persian and Turkish. She is a great fan of Iranian cinema and English literary classics. She breaks woman stereotypes. To much dismay of the author herself who advocates woman power, her mother reckons she could have been a man trapped in woman's body for her craze of adventure sports. She loves jet-skiing, paragliding, is a good shot, and romances good food. Among her womanly traits, she fears dark basements, loathes the sight of flying cockroaches (99% will land on her). Unorthodoxly, she doesn't mind lizards or spiders. Her Persian pet cat, Prince, copes with her dream of a pet dog (her mom wouldn't allow). According to her close ones, Javeria is loved for her daring courage to speak bitter truths, witty humor sense and impulsive one-liners that spread harmless laughter. Her name is Arabic meaning one who spreads happiness. (Her mother approves this one though.) She is an optimist, very good at random conversations; also someone who would dread taking surprise phone calls or being in the same room with someone offensive. She has no tolerance for hypocrites or snobbish lot. She serves as a Messiah with her pen, believing in its power and feeling the pain of many. Her book will connect the world spiritually through a sense of purpose and heal ailing hearts. You are holding Rubies from her dusty closet, her first book of poetry, with more to come. (P.S. the author thanks her dearests to help create this biography)
