Autorenporträt
Larry Musson entered the US Army March 3, 1969, at Chicago, Illinois. He completed basic training and Advanced Infantry Training at Tiger Land in Fort Polk, LA. He volunteered for airborne training and completed Jump School at Fort Benning, GA, where he received orders for the 173rd Airborne Brigade in the Republic of South Vietnam, earning two overseas bars. He is the recipient of the Bronze Star, Air Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, National Defense Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with four battle stars, Vietnam Civil Action Ribbon, and Vietnam Service Ribbon. He was awarded the Combat Infantry and Parachute Badges. After returning home, he married his wife, Patricia. They have three children and six grandchildren. He worked for Mobil Oil for thirty-five years, retiring from ExxonMobil in 2007. He is a lifelong resident of Illinois, born in Shelbyville, grew up in Elwood where he went to grade school, graduated from Joliet East High School, and attended Joliet Junior College. He is a life member of the 173rd Airborne Association, VFW, and the American Legion.
