Autorenporträt
Keith Hammerschmidt lives a simple life. Some might say he's a minimalist. Living a fulfilling and balanced life is what he strives to do. He's a believer in that by taking care of his mind, body, and spirit, everything else will fall into place. Through his formative years, he struggled with low self-esteem and had no confidence. He was inept in all aspects of the word; academically, artistically, athletically, and socially. He was in the lowest level of every class and a Title One student. He had a tutor throughout the summers, in addition to summer school. As an adult, he worked to transform his life but shortly after reaching his dream job as an executive chef, life surprised him with adversity, including a devastating mental illness that took years to accept and overcome. He still has his battles and life isn't always chocolate covered strawberries, but he does his best each day. Sometimes his 100% is only equal to his 50% on a great day but regardless, he always gives 100%. He's an advocate of mental health, working to destigmatize mental health conditions. Today, he'd say he's in a pretty good place with a lot to be thankful and grateful for. He feels very blessed to have been surrounded by a loving family, great friendships, patient mentors, and a few intimate relationships. His son is the biggest reason why he disciplined himself to change for the better. It's a little unbelievable to him that he's had the good fortune of being an executive chef, a sales consultant, and now, an author and entrepreneur!
