Sa'di (1184-1283/1291), born Abu-Mu?ammad Mu?li? al-Din bin Abdallah Shirazi, was a Persian poet best known for his deep social and moral ideas. Because of the Mongol invasion of his home town, Sa'di roamed the Middle East for thirty years. His two most popular books of verse are Bostan (The Orchard) (1257) and Gulistan (The Rose Garden) (1258).
