Ideas for this book truly began with a huge mysterious rope the author found as a kid on a Chesapeake Bay island. While not forgotten, the memory lay dormant for many years as she led a successful career in collegiate communications. Writing anchored her work, from articles in college magazines to speeches and TV scripts. This, her debut novel, begins a new chapter - as a novelist. In her kayak whenever possible, she splits her time between Florida and Virginia, shared with her husband and cat.
