R Frederick Finlayson commissioned the Indonesian translation with the permission of Dr Hunter and the original publisher, Lontar Foundation. The latter had published the excerpts in English in the book, Blossoms of Longing (1998).

R Frederick Finlayson commissioned the Indonesian translation with the permission of Dr Hunter and the original publisher, Lontar Foundation. The latter had published the excerpts in English in the book, Blossoms of Longing (1998).

Mr Finlayson selected and arranged the texts in the current form, which was intended for public performance but, for various unforeseen reasons, this has not yet occured.

Sembilan Malam ada garis besar pertunjukan puisi Jawa kuno untuk dua pemain dalam dua bahasa, enam belas lagu dan tarian. Diadaptasi untuk pertunjukan oleh R Frederick Finlayson dari Blossoms of Longing (Lontar 1998), kumpulan kutipan dari tujuh puisi Jawa kuno yang diterjemahkan dari bahasa Kawi ke dalam bahasa Inggris oleh Thomas Hunter. Terjemahan bahasa Indonesia dari bahasa Inggris oleh Puspita Ariadevi dan Ariyantri E. Tarman.
