This book (High Command: Soldiers, Statesmen and Leadership in Time of War) is one of the best political books written in the third millennium. It is a book that teaches the art of historical analysis and the art of political analysis, in a few hundred pages. Its importance and danger lie in the fact that it speaks of a very sensitive issue: the very complex relationship between the civilian governor and the military commander on the ground. The author singles out the time of war with hadith, because it is the time when differences arise and are most intense between the two parties mentioned. Wartime is different from peacetime, where the relationship between the two parties is locked in the framework of courtesies, and rivalries - if they occur - remain where they are chests, like fire under the ashes.
