JULIE MARIE FREEMAN (born July 18, 1971) has a passion for writing and graduated from the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication where she received a degree in Print and Broadcast Journalism. She worked as a political appointee for the State Insurance Commissioner of Louisiana, Jim Donelon, as his private confidential assistant. With a keen interest in health care policy, she was appointed by Commissioner Donelon to serve as the assistant director of the Louisiana Health Care Commission, a 47 member multidisciplinary board that examines health policy developed by the Louisiana Department of Insurance addressing reform of the healthcare system insurance systems in Louisiana. She is now retired and interested in investigative reporting and writing true crime books.
