My poems are the raw expression of those experiences. My feelings weren't always pretty or things I was proud of, but they were - and are - mine. Shannon Gowens was born in Pisa, Italy. After living there for 19 years she moved to Boulder/Denver Colorado and finally settled in Seattle Washington. Shannon has a minor in nutrition, BA and adult fitness and exercise sciences, and an MS in general psychology. She's married with two boys, aged seven and ten.
