Autorenporträt
Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, born in London in 1797, wrote her first book at the age of ten. Not yet 17 years old, she eloped in 1814 with the young poet Percy Shelley, whom she married in 1816. Inspired by reading horror stories, she wrote her first novel "Frankenstein", which caused a scandal and became a great success. After the early death of her husband, Shelley wrote five more novels and short stories. She died in London in 1851.
