Autorenporträt

Ed holds a PhD in oceanography and has directed five science centers and museums in the US. He was founding director of the National Inventors Hall of Fame and founder of the National Toy Hall of Fame. The Fulbright Commission has given him three awards to train science teachers overseas. He teaches for Semester at Sea and has traveled to more than 120 countries on seven continents. His wife, Barbara, plays a big role in many of his adventures including sailing across the Pacific Ocean. He has published 33 books and created and hosted his own television show on inventing and science.
