Autorenporträt
Gabi was born in Duesseldorf, Germany, in 1958. She qualified as a medical doctor in 1985 at Duesseldorf University. She went to London to work at the Hammersmith Hospital, where she met her future husband, Charles, who is also a paediatrician. After her marriage to Charles in 1987, Gabi moved to the UK and started work in the Paediatric Liver Transplant Unit at Addenbrookes University Hospital in Cambridge. She retired in 2018 after 30 years of service. Gabi and Charles have four adopted children: Philip, Aaron, Molly and Aleshia. The family lives in rural Suffolk with a Springador dog, Tess.
