The Sibling Sleuths Of Cottage Groves consists of three installations of the adventures of two brothers from Cottage Grove, Texas, a small community adjacent to Houston. The stories take place from 1919 to the early 1920s. The brothers solve mysteries, chase bad guys and grow to know each other as friends. Woven into the stories is Texas Gulf Coast history with appearances by real and fictional characters from the era. One black and white illustration done by the author accompanies each story with another black and white illustration for the cover.

Part One is the story of Skeet Bruner and his younger brother, Will, collaborating to uncover and derail an espionage plot involving a German spy named Adolf and an American born sympathizer. The setting is shortly after Skeet's return to Cottage Grove after serving in the Army Air Corps in Europe during the Great War.

Part Two is the story of the Bruner brothers working together to solve a bank robbery. The robbery occurred during the excitement of the first high school football championship played in Texas. Will is one of the heroes of the game and is later a hero in catching the main culprit in the robbery gang.

Part Three is the story of an art theft scheme which Skeet and Will unravel in time to save the artwork from destruction. The story describes the budding cultural and arts community in Houston during the Roaring Twenties.
