Author Clay Kenney writes horror because the fun for him is making the unbelievable believable. Lately, though, he's been feeling as if his life and his marriage are falling apart, and he hasn't been able to write a word. Desperate for a grand idea that will make him the success he was in the past-and in the eyes of his wife, he invites his writing friends for a brainstorming weekend in his studio: a room filled with macabre curios and murder memorabilia. The weekend, however, serves only to hurl them in a dark, life-altering direction.
One freakish event is just that. Two make a coincidence. A third, with uncanny similarities, can force even a staunch skeptic like Clay to choke out the word "paranormal." With lives at stake, the friends reach out to psychic medium Jacqui Baird who sums up Clay within minutes of their meeting, "You're asking for help-a kind you don't really believe will work-with something you don't believe could possibly be happening." It's not on paper where he must grapple with the unbelievable, and failure here will make him far more than just a self-proclaimed loser. (81k words)
