Autorenporträt

San Francisco writer CJ Verburg is best known as an author/editor and playwright/director. Recent books include the novels "Croaked: an Edgar Rowdey Cape Cod Mystery" and "Silent Night Violent Night: a Cory Goodwin Mystery" and the biography "Edward Gorey On Stage..a Multimedia Memoir," all published in both e- and print formats by Boom-Books. Other books include the international literature collections "Ourselves Among Others" and "Making Contact" (Bedford /St. Martin's). Editing projects range from "Powers of Ten" (Scientific American Library) to "Ghosts in the Mind's Machine" (W.W. Norton). Carol's play "Spin, or Twilight of the Bohemians" was a winner at the 2011 Ashland New Plays Festival and the 2012 Centenary Stage Women Playwrights Series. She produced Edward Gorey's original theatrical pieces on Cape Cod, as well as wrote and/or directed her own plays, including "Lady Day in Love," starring Pam Lopes in the Bourne and Sandwich productions, Ledisi at San Francisco's Eureka Theatre, and Kim Nalley at Fellowship Theater Guild.
