Jeffrey J. Mariotte is the bestselling, multiple-award-winning author of more than sixty novels, including original thrillers Empty Rooms and The Devil's Bait; supernatural thrillers Season of the Wolf, Cold Black Hearts, River Runs Red and Missing White Girl; horror epic The Slab; and Stoker Award-nominated teen horror quartet Year of the Wicked; as well as books set in the universes of Narcos, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Deadlands, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, CSI, Supernatural, Spider-Man, Superman, Las Vegas, Conan, 30 Days of Night, Star Trek, and others. With his wife, writer Marsheila Rockwell, he's the author of the science fiction/horror/thriller 7 SYKOS and Mafia III: Plain of Jars, and numerous works of short fiction.

He is also the author of many comic books, including the original Western series Desperadoes, some of which have been nominated for Stoker and International Horror Guild awards. The miniseries Desperadoes: Buffalo Dreams was chosen as the Best Western Comic Book of 2007 by True West Magazine. He has held many jobs in the publishing industry, including bookstore manager and owner, VP of marketing at WildStorm Productions/Image Comics, senior editor at WildStorm Productions/DC Comics, and editor-in-chief at IDW Publishing.
