Born in Waycross, Georgia, Dr. Randall Odom grew up in the Palm Harbor area of the Gulf Coast of Florida. It was there that he met and later married his childhood sweetheart, Deborah Seiver. Happily married for over 46 years, they have two grown, married children who are also Christians, and three grandchildren. Having pastored churches for 40+ years, Randall is now retired, living in Monroe, NC and teaching a discipleship class and a men's mentoring program at Hopewell Baptist Church in Monroe, where he and Deborah are members. In addition to pastoring, Dr. Odom has pursued several interests including beekeeping, Bass Masters competitive fishing, woodworking, gourmet cooking, traveling, writing poetry and a weekly newspaper article. He also loved motorcycle riding, sailing and scuba diving. As an extension of his time in the pastorate he was involved in book publishing, as a conference speaker, seminary professor and writing books. An avid student of History, particularly the American Civil War, Randall has led several 3-day bus tours for 45 men each time, teaching the on-site history of the battles and highlighting the Christian character, Christian principles and leadership of certain Civil War personalities. Dr. Odom's primary passion in life is to glorify God, to build the kingdom of God through evangelizing the lost, and discipling Christians in the truths of Scripture. In his highly informative, encouraging, inspiring and deeply practical book, Dr. Odom leads his readers through the core teaching of the Biblical truths of Romans chapter eight written by the Apostle Paul. "Since God Is For Us," Christians are absolutely secure in Christ and are "More Than Conquerors" through Him who loved us!
