Myung Sun Lee, the author, was born in Seoul and graduated from Seoul High School before attending the College of Business Administration at Seoul National University. After serving as an officer in the Air Force (48th class) for over four years, he moved to the United States in 1966 to pursue further studies. He earned both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Information Systems Management and Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC). Following his studies, he gained experience working at various American companies and later joined Zep-Aero and Puritan Bennett. In 1976, he acquired and managed Houston Fearless76 for 34 years until he passed the business to his eldest son in 2010. Now retired, he enjoys a peaceful life with his wife, dividing their time between their homes in Palos Verdes and Palm Springs, engaging in activities like golfing and traveling. He is blessed with three childrentwo sons and a daughter.

Reflecting on his journey, he emphasizes two core values that have guided him throughout his life: honesty and perseverance. He believes these virtues are fundamental to achieving success and wishes for his children and future generations to understand their importance. His life experiences, chronicled in this book, underscore the significance of these values for anyone embarking on their own journey.

He draws inspiration from a metaphor about a bird sitting on a swaying branch, singing without fear because it knows it can fly if needed. This reflects a deep belief in oneself. However, he admits that, looking back, his confidence was sometimes misplaced. Life's uncertainties often made him realize that his true strength did not lie in his abilities, qualifications, wealth, or fame, but in God's grace. It was this grace that protected and sustained him throughout his life's ups and downs.
