Autorenporträt
Anna M. Stoddart (1840-1911) was born in Scotland and educated in Edinburgh and Germany. She taught and lectured at girls' schools from 1867 to 1881. Her works include biographies of St. Francis of Assisi, Renaissance man Paracelsus, Scots scholar and nationalist John Stuart Blackie, travel writer Isabella Bird, as well as abolitionist and suffragette Elizabeth Pease Nicol.
