Autorenporträt

Arthur L. Guptill (18911956), in partnership with his friend Ernest Watson, founded, edited, and managed American Artist magazine and Watson-Guptill Publications. He began his career working in architectural and interior design and taught popular courses on the subjects at New York's Pratt Institute and Brooklyn Museum. Guptill also wrote several easy, interesting, and beautifully illustrated art instruction books.
