Autorenporträt

Moris Polanco es autor de doce libros. Es Doctor en Filosofía por la Universidad de Navarra. y Licenciado en Letras y Filosofía por la Universidad Rafael Landívar. Enseñó ética y filosofía en la Universidad Francisco Marroquín durante 23 años, donde fue también director del área de humanidades de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas. Entre 1994 y 1997 fue profesor de filosofía y ética en la Universidad de La Sabana (Colombia). Es miembro numerario de la Academia Guatemalteca de la Lengua correspondiente con la Real Academia Española y director académico y de investigaciones del Instituto Fe y Libertad.

Apasionado por la cultura clásica de Occidente, escribe en la actualidad "Marco Aurelio comentado" y "Si un romano nos visitara", parte de la serie "Sabiduría clásica para nuestro tiempo". Entre sus demás libros se encuentran: Filósofos antiguos y modernos, Teorías Éticas, Escritos filosóficos y humanísticos, La filosofía moral de Adam Smith, Textos clásicos del Derecho Natural, Errores, dudas y dificultades del español y Realismo y Pragmatismo. Biografía intelectual de Hilary Putnam. Tiene también proyectado escribir un manual de pensamiento crítico y otro sobre buenos modales para niños y jóvenes.
