Whoi would would think that Alex Barteau, who had been a professor at Chinese universities for several years, would be the victim of a scam from the Philippines? He is not only cheated by an unscrupulous business partner that he takes to court (or so he thinks) but by lovely young ladies. Some profess love and some display graphic poses. But what they all have in common is that they desire money from an American.
For Alex, this is a lesson learned the hard way. He does, however, receive support from a brother who insists that he is Bipolar with an addiction similar to the alcholism that controlled their father. He also receives support from a Canadian colleague who taught with him in China for several years.
Life is risk. Life is hazard. Not just for Alex but for most of us. Unfortunately, some of this problem deals with trust. For Alex, this is a sad fact because of the attraction he has for Asian women he met during his years in China.
