Before his death in 2019, Alan Douglas spent his days enjoying daily walks along the countless numbers of cross-country footpaths and tracks in Hampshire in the south of England. He liked to soak up the atmosphere at iron age hill forts and ancient burial sites and monuments. A widower, he had worked in the engineering sector of the bulk liquid petroleum and chemicals industry before his retirement.
