Dr. Evona Lee Smith is a wife and mother of five children. Dr. Smith is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana (LA). She received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Dillard University at New Orleans, a Master of Science degree in nursing, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Loyola University at New Orleans. Dr. Smith has practiced as a registered nurse since 2003 and a family nurse practitioner since 2009. She has extensive experience in primary care, emergency department, hospice, and maternal-child nursing. Dr. Smith serves as a prenatal educator and executive board member of a crisis pregnancy center. She also serves as an instructor and mentor to young women in her church community ranging from school aged to college. Dr. Smith has a love for educating her community and her goal is to write books that will assist young people to cope with challenges that occur in their daily lives and those challenges that exist within the societies in which they live.
