Paul Nihoul dirige le Centre de droit de la consommation. Il est Professeur à l'Université de Louvain (Belgique), où il enseigne le droit de la concurrence et le droit de la consommation (aspects nationaux, européens et internationaux). Il a étudié le droit à l'Université de Louvain et à la Harvard Law School (USA). Au cours de sa carrière, il a exercé les fonctions suivantes : avocat au barreau de New York (Cleary Gottlieb Steen Hamilton, USA), conseiller du Ministre belge des Finances, M. Ph. Maystadt, référendaire à la Cour de justice des Communautés européennes, auprès des Juges Joliet et Murray; Chargé de cours, puis Professeur à la Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, Pays-Bas, où il a été titulaire de la Chaire Jean Monnet sur la société européenne de l'information.

Avocat au barreau de Bruxelles, chercheur associé au Centre de Droit de la Consommation de l'Université catholique de Louvain et chercheur aux Facultés Universitaires Saint-Louis. Titulaire d'une licence en Droit et d'un DES en Droit économique (orientation assurances) de l'Université de Louvain, il consacre ses activités au domaine économique avec un intérêt particulier pour la protection des consommateurs. Membre du Comité de rédaction du Journal des Tribunaux de Droit Européen (J.D.E.), il est l'auteur de plusieurs publications et a collaboré à l'élaboration de divers ouvrages.
