Sixteen young minds from across our nation speak up and let us know they have something to say. Whether it is their written essay, poetry, affirmations or their original art, they speak unreservedly and bold about what it means to simply exist in a society where injustice is prevalent for people of color. Within these pages, we hope to amplify the voices of our youth, receive their messages and respond with a call to action!
Speak, Young Brown People, Speak. We are Listening! is branched toward social justice, equality and social transformation for black, brown and indigenous people in America. It puts the focus on our youth...their thoughts, their views and their portrait of what social, economic and environmental injustice looks like to them.
"You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right."
- Rosa Parks
We hope to inspire self-love, self-confidence and foster a positive change in the way society views young black and brown youth in America.
Our young people are speaking up and letting their voices be heard!
