Autorenporträt
James Caruth was born in Belfast but has lived in Sheffield for over thirty years. His first collection, A Stone's Throw, was published by Staple in 2007. Dark Peak, a long sequence, appeared from Longbarrow in 2008, followed by Marking the Lambs with Smith Doorstop in 2010. In the same year he won the Yorkshire Open competition, judged by Simon Armitage, and in 2012 his pamphlet The Death of Narrative was chosen by Carol Ann Duffy as a winner of the International Book & Pamphlet Competition. His poems have appeared in a number of anthologies including Cast: The Poetry Business Book of New Contemporary Poets (2014). His latest pamphlet, Narrow Water, was published in 2017 by Poetry Salzburg.
